Where did the funding go?

28 Apr

Another grant writer friend shared this great website with me— http://www.fedspending.org.

We all wonder where the money goes, especially if we aren’t awarded the grant. I am just nosey by nature, and even if I do get the money, I can’t leave well enough alone. I want to know who else and how much.

Let’s say you submitted a Projects with Industry proposal for a workforce development program for people with disabilities, but sadly, you were not funded. But who did get the money? Rather than dredge the depths of the Department of Education website, go to www.fedspending.org, and the sad, sad truth is at your finger tips.

http://www.fedspending.org/faads/faads.php?cfda_program_num=84.234&sum_expand=C&sortby=u&detail=-1&datype=T&reptype=a&database=faads&fiscal_year=2006&submit=GO

You will notice that this is 2006 information, and there was another cycle funded in September 2008. The drop down menu only allows a search for as recent as 2007, so at this point you are about 6 to 18 months behind. Still…This is a good site for recon.
